Volunteer at Berwyn Heights Day!

The Berwyn Heights Boys and Girls Club is a community group run for our kids entirely by parents and other volunteers, so please consider volunteering a bit of your time during Berwyn Heights Day – Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Please review the following and consider participating and helping!

Parade: BHBGC players, coaches, and affiliates are invited to walk in the parade from the Berwyn Heights Community Center (beside the Berwyn Heights Elementary School) to the other side of Town Hall on Berwyn Road. We will start to meet around 11:30 AM in the grass between the parking lot and Community Center. BHBGC players are encouraged to wear their uniforms (with walking shoes). Coach Jamie will help organize the kids, but we will need volunteer chaperones for the walk if many children’s parents plan to meet them at the end of the parade.

Snack Fundraiser Table: BHBGC will have a table for marketing and fundraising. Volunteers can help with setting up the table (10:00 – 11:00 AM), staffing the table (i.e., selling food and drinks, sharing information about BHBGC) in 1-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and cleaning up (~4:00-4:30 PM or earlier if we sell out). Children are allowed to help with adult supervision.

Beer Truck: BHBGC runs the beer truck every year as a fundraiser. You can volunteer to help with the beer truck in 1-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Some board positions are open in Spring 2022, and we will need a new registrar before Fall 2022! If you are interested, please email the current board members at [email protected]. Or join a monthly board meeting to see what it is all about! 

It takes volunteers to keep this club going, and we do it for our children and the community!

Volunteer at Berwyn Heights Day!

There are a number of opportunities to volunteer with BHBGC during Berwyn Height Day on Saturday, May 7th, 2022. Please review the following and consider participating and helping! (A little rain is not going to stop our fun!)

Parade: BHBGC players, coaches, and affiliates are invited to walk in the parade from the Berwyn Heights Community Center (beside the Berwyn Heights Elementary School) to the other side of Town Hall on Berwyn Road.* We will start to meet around 11:30 AM in the grass between the parking lot and Community Center. BHBGC players are encouraged to wear their uniforms (with walking shoes). And feel free to bring umbrellas. Coach Jamie will help organize the kids, but we will need volunteer chaperones for the walk if many children’s parents plan to meet them at the end of the parade.*

Table and Property: BHBGC will have a table for marketing and fundraising. Volunteers can help with setting up the table and equipment (10:00 – 11:00 AM), monitoring the table between set-up and sales (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM), and cleaning up after sales or festivities conclude (~4:00-4:30 PM or earlier if we sell out).

Fundraiser: From 12:00-4:00 PM, volunteers can help fundraise, selling drinks and snacks to raise funds to help cover the clubs new equipment needs and other expenses. There are 30 minute increment slots to volunteer, but feel free to sign up for multiple slots. For sales, one person should handle orders/money, another person should get the food and/or drinks, and a third person can be helping (check math, talk about/show pictures of club activities, replenish inventory). Children are allowed to help with adult supervision.

*Because of the rain, all activities will be at Town Hall (not Sports Park).
*If you want to participate in and watch the parade, volunteer before 11:30 AM and/or after 1:00 PM.
